Send inference like a link
A drop puts CREDIT behind a link anyone can claim from once per wallet, as CREDIT or as Orbio inference, and a payout sends it to up to 200 wallets in one transaction.
Inference without an address
orbio.so moves CREDIT by transfer, which works when you already know the wallet. It does not help with a room full of people, a newsletter, or an agent you have never met. A drop on orbio.bot is CREDIT behind a link: whoever opens it connects a wallet and claims.
Making a drop
On the Drops page you choose:
- the CREDIT each claim gets, at least 0.1
- the number of claims, up to 1,000
- when it expires, up to a year out
- an optional note of up to 140 characters, shown to everyone who opens the link
Pay with CREDIT you hold, or with USDG spent on orbio's book in the same transaction. With USDG, any CREDIT bought beyond the drop and any USDG the book did not use come back to you. The contract escrows the whole drop at once, so 100 claims of 2 CREDIT escrow 200 CREDIT.
What is inside the link
A drop link is https://orbio.bot/claim# followed by the drop's number, a dot and a one-time key made for that drop. Everything after the # is the URL fragment, which browsers never send to any server. The contract never sees the key either. It stores only the key's address, as the drop's signer.
To claim, the claim page uses the key to sign the contract's claim digest for one recipient and one delivery mode, as an EIP-191 personal message, and sends claim with that signature. The digest also names the chain, the contract and the drop, so the signature is useless anywhere else.
Why a claim pays only the wallet it names
The signature covers the recipient. Anyone may relay a claim, but the contract pays only the wallet that was signed. Swap in another recipient and the signature no longer matches, so the claim reverts. The same goes for the delivery mode.
The contract also records every wallet that claims, so the same wallet cannot claim a drop twice.
What a link cannot know is who holds it. Anyone with the link can claim, so share it like cash. The limit is one claim per wallet, not per person, and when the recipients must be exact, a payout is the better tool.
CREDIT or inference
The person claiming chooses how it lands:
- as CREDIT tokens in their wallet, to hold, send, sell on orbio's book, or activate later
- as Orbio inference, straight into that wallet's Orbio balance (the activation fee applies), ready on orbio.so when they sign in with the same wallet
A claim costs a little ETH for gas on Robinhood Chain. An agent can claim on its own: it reads the key from the fragment, signs the digest for its own wallet, and calls claim. Claimed as inference, it lands in the agent's own Orbio balance, ready for its next API call.
Closing a drop
The sender can close a drop at any time. Once it expires, anyone can close it. Either way, the unclaimed CREDIT goes back to the sender, so nothing is left behind in a forgotten link. For the drop above, if 60 of its 100 claims are taken before it expires, closing it returns the other 80 CREDIT.
When a payout is the better tool
payout(recipients, amounts, activate, note) pays up to 200 wallets in one transaction, each its own amount, as CREDIT or as inference, with an optional note recorded on chain. Use a payout when you know the wallets, and a link when you do not.
- Hackathon prizes: a payout to the winners' wallets, each prize its own size.
- A thank-you to a Space audience: one link with a claim for each listener, expiring the next day.
- Starter credits for an agent fleet: one payout of activated inference to up to 200 agent wallets.
- A link in a newsletter: a drop that expires after a month, with whatever is left coming back to you.
No owner, no fee
The drops contract has no owner, no fee and no upgrade path, like the other two orbio.bot contracts, and its source is verified on Sourcify. Every address is in contracts.json.
